Your monthly tracked-sales limit and what happens when you hit it

It is not a revenue share. LinkJolt takes 0% of the sales your affiliates drive; the limit is how much affiliate-driven sales volume your plan tracks in a billing period ($5,000 Starter, $25,000 Professional, $50,000 Ultimate, no limit on Scale), and most sales past it are held rather than lost.

Your monthly tracked-sales limit is not a revenue share. LinkJolt charges a flat monthly subscription and takes 0% of the sales your affiliates drive. The limit is how much affiliate-driven sales volume your plan tracks in one billing period.

The limit on each plan

  • Starter: $5,000 per month
  • Professional: $25,000 per month
  • Ultimate: $50,000 per month
  • Scale: no limit

It measures the gross value of the sales your affiliates drive, not your total company revenue and not what you spend on commissions. Sales you rejected never count, and neither does test-mode API data. Sales recorded by the JavaScript tracking script count only once you approve them. If you run more than one brand, each brand is measured against its own limit at your account plan tier instead of sharing one pool. The counter resets when your billing period rolls over, which is not necessarily the 1st of the month.

Where to see your usage

On a desktop-width screen, the merchant dashboard top bar carries a usage badge (it is hidden on narrow screens). The badge shows your tracked sales for the period, switches to a percentage once you pass 80%, and reads "Limit Exceeded" when you are over. Click it for a "Monthly Sales Limit" panel with a usage bar, your current plan, your monthly limit and the date it resets.

What happens as you approach the limit, and past it

  1. At 80% of the limit you get a dashboard notification, plus an email to the account owner, once per billing period per brand. Nothing changes yet.
  2. The sale that takes you over the limit is recorded in full. Holding starts on the sales after it.
  3. New sales are then recorded with the status Held. The commission is calculated but cannot be approved or paid, the sale does not add to campaign revenue, and it stays out of your affiliates' earnings.
  4. A second notification and email tell you the limit has been reached.

Links and click tracking keep working the whole time, so attribution does not break.

Holding applies to Stripe Checkout, server-side Stripe charges, WooCommerce and Apple In-App Purchases, including Apple renewals and free trials that convert to a paid Stripe subscription. Stripe subscription renewals, and sales from Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad and GoPay, are skipped instead of held: they are never recorded and cannot be recovered afterwards. Upgrade as soon as you get the limit-reached alert.

Conversions posted through the Developer API, sales you add by hand in the dashboard, and sales posted by the JavaScript tracking script are all refused with a limit-reached error while you are over.

How held sales are released

Change your plan in Settings, on the Billing tab, using "Change plan" (account owner only). Held sales from the current billing period are then released automatically, as long as the new limit covers that period's volume including the held sales themselves. Each one flips to Pending, campaign revenue catches up, and you get a "Held sales released" notification and email. They then sit in your commissions list awaiting approval, like any other sale.

You cannot approve a held sale by hand. The dashboard refuses, saying the sale exceeded your plan's monthly tracked-sales limit and that upgrading releases held sales. Held sales from an earlier billing period are not released automatically, so contact support if you have any.

If you are regularly past the Ultimate limit, Scale is a flat high-volume tier with no tracked-sales limit. See also "Do you take a percentage of my affiliate sales?" and "How does billing and the monthly limit work when I run multiple brands?".

Related questions

What is included in each plan?

Every plan includes link and coupon tracking, rule based fraud checks and 0% commission fees. Plans differ by monthly tracked-sales cap, staff seats and advanced features: Starter is $19.99, Professional $39.99, Ultimate $99 and Scale $249 a month.

Do you take a percentage of my affiliate sales?

No. LinkJolt charges a flat monthly subscription and takes 0 percent of your affiliate revenue. Sales settle to your own payment account, so there is no per-transaction cut.

What happens when I reach my plan's monthly tracked-revenue limit?

Each plan has a monthly tracked-sales cap. Once you reach it, new conversions stop counting toward commissions until the next month or until you upgrade. Existing data and payouts are unaffected.

Can I add my team to LinkJolt?

Yes, on paid plans: Professional includes up to 2 team members and Ultimate up to 20 (Starter has none). Invite them by email. Billing and team management stay owner-only, and you can grant payout or API access per teammate.
