How do I pay my affiliates?

Approve the commission, then either let LinkJolt charge your saved card and send the money through Stripe, or download a file and pay the affiliate yourself through PayPal, Wise or your bank. LinkJolt never holds your funds, so there is no balance to withdraw.

You pay affiliates from your own account, either automatically through Stripe or by downloading a file and sending the payments yourself. LinkJolt never holds your money, so there is no LinkJolt balance to top up and nothing to withdraw.

Every payout starts the same way: a commission must be approved before it can be paid.

1. Approve the commission

Open Commissions. Click a pending row and use Approve to do one, or tick several rows and use Approve (n) in the selection bar.

A refunded commission is closed for good and can never be approved or paid. A rejected one is not payable while it is rejected, though you can open it and choose Approve anyway if you are confident the sale was genuine.

2. Choose how the money gets there

Click Pay affiliates at the top of the Commissions tab. LinkJolt groups every approved commission under How they get paid, based on how each affiliate can actually receive money, and each group has its own action.

Automatic, via Stripe

For affiliates who have connected a Stripe payout account, LinkJolt charges your saved card and sends each affiliate their share out of that charge. You do not connect Stripe yourself, your card is the funding source.

  1. The account owner, or a team member with payout permission, accepts the payout terms once in Settings, Payouts.
  2. Pick the group and press Pay [n] affiliates, then review the breakdown before confirming.

One charge is created per affiliate per currency, so one affiliate's failure cannot block the rest. Each charge carries Stripe's processing fee of 2.9% plus 0.30 in the charge currency, passed through at cost. LinkJolt takes nothing.

This route reaches affiliates registered in the UK, the US, Canada, Switzerland and the EEA, for commissions in pounds, US dollars or euros. Anything outside that is stopped before any charge is created, so you are never billed for a transfer that cannot land. Transfers arrive in 1 to 3 business days and cannot be reversed once sent.

By file, for everyone else

Affiliates who saved a PayPal email or a Wise email sit in a group for each. Download that group's file, pay them yourself from your own PayPal, Wise or bank account, then come back and confirm. Nothing is marked paid until you do.

"Mark as Paid" on a single commission is not always a records-only step. If that affiliate has a connected payout account and you have accepted the payout terms, it sends a real transfer and charges your card. Check the confirmation before you confirm it: "Send payment now?" means money moves, "Mark commission as paid?" means records only.

Paying without clicking every time

Accept the payout terms in Settings, Payouts, then turn on Auto-Payouts in the toolbar of the Commissions tab. It is available on the Professional, Ultimate and Scale plans, and the switch stays disabled until the terms are accepted.

Approving a commission then queues the payment. Your card is charged on the next daily payout run, at least 24 hours after you approve. A refund inside that window cancels the queued payment, or reduces it if the refund was partial.

Queued and completed payouts are listed on the Payout activity tab.

When an affiliate cannot be paid yet

Affiliates with no usable payout details are grouped under Cannot be paid yet. Only they can fix that, so the action there is a reminder. Their commissions stay approved and unpaid until they act.

Related questions

Why is my commission still pending?

A commission stays pending until the merchant reviews and approves it, and merchants approve on their own schedule. LinkJolt has no setting and no timer that approves commissions automatically, so pending means the merchant has not actioned it yet.

Connect Stripe so your commissions can be paid automatically

Connecting your own Stripe account in the affiliate portal is what lets a merchant's automated payout reach you. Your commissions are tracked and approved either way, but without a connected account the merchant pays you by hand through PayPal, Wise or a bank transfer instead.

Approving and rejecting commissions

Commissions are never approved for you. Every tracked sale arrives as Pending on the Commissions page, and you approve or reject it there, one row at a time or in bulk with the row checkboxes.

How automatic payouts work, and what the processing fee is

Automatic payouts charge your saved payment method for the commission plus a processing fee of 2.9% and 0.30, then Stripe sends the payout to your affiliate. They are available on Professional, Ultimate and Scale, and stay off until you turn them on.
