LinkJolt vs FirstPromoter in 2026: An Honest Comparison
LinkJolt vs FirstPromoter in 2026: An Honest Comparison

LinkJolt and FirstPromoter both track affiliates for subscription businesses, and neither takes a cut of your affiliate revenue. The decision usually comes down to two things: which billing system you use, and whether the affiliate portal has to look entirely like your own product.
FirstPromoter starts at $49 a month and natively supports Stripe, Paddle, Recurly, Chargebee and Braintree, which is the widest subscription-billing coverage in the category. LinkJolt starts at $19.99 and covers Stripe, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad, WooCommerce and Apple In-App Purchases, with automated payouts included on every plan.
We build LinkJolt, so treat this as an interested party's comparison and check anything decisive against FirstPromoter's own pages. Figures here were read from those pages in 2026.
Side by side
Both entry tiers cap at $5,000 a month. The gap opens one tier up: our $39.99 plan covers $25,000 where their $99 plan covers $15,000.The question that usually decides it: your billing system
This is the first thing to check, because it can end the comparison immediately.
FirstPromoter wins if you bill through Recurly, Chargebee or Braintree. They support all three natively; we support none of them. If your subscriptions run on Recurly, the rest of this page is academic.
LinkJolt wins if you bill through Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad, WooCommerce, or Apple In-App Purchases. They do not list those natively. The Apple integration is unique to us across this whole category: App Store subscriptions tracked through Apple's own server notifications and offer codes, with no SDK.
If you are on Stripe or Paddle, both work well and you should decide on the other factors below.
Portal branding
FirstPromoter's reputation here is deserved. Their white-label customisation goes further than ours: deeper control over the portal on your own domain, and more control over affiliate-facing emails. If your requirement is that a partner should never see a third-party product name anywhere in the experience, they satisfy it more completely than we do.
What we offer: your brand colour throughout, your own subdomain such as yourbrand.linkjolt.io used for affiliate short links too, configurable terminology so partners are called whatever you call them (affiliates, creators, influencers, partners or ambassadors), control over which details the portal shows, and removal of the "Powered by LinkJolt" line on Ultimate and Scale. That covers most merchants. It is not as deep as theirs.
Payouts
FirstPromoter generates bulk PayPal and Wise batches for you to run, and offers one-click Stripe payouts. It is a solid, controlled workflow, and the money stays in your accounts throughout.
LinkJolt automates the whole cycle on every plan: when commissions are approved, your saved card is charged for the payout total plus a disclosed fee, and Stripe transfers each affiliate's share straight from that charge to their connected account. No batch to run, no balance to pre-fund, and nothing held by us.
Our honest limit, again: that automation reaches the US, UK, EEA, Canada and Switzerland in GBP, USD or EUR. Affiliates elsewhere are paid by CSV export, which is the same shape as FirstPromoter's standard flow. If your affiliates are mostly outside those regions, this advantage largely disappears.
Price at the tier you will actually be on
At the entry tier the real difference is $19.99 against $49 for the same $5,000 allowance.
One tier up it widens: $39.99 for $25,000 of tracked sales against $99 for $15,000 of affiliate revenue. A program doing $20,000 a month through affiliates is on our $39.99 plan and their $99 plan, which is a meaningful annual difference for the same job.
Above that we have Ultimate at $79.99 for $50,000 and Scale at $249 with no cap; they have Enterprise from $149. Work out where you will be a year from now rather than today.
Where FirstPromoter is the better choice
- You bill through Recurly, Chargebee or Braintree. Decisive, on its own.
- Portal branding must be absolute, on your own domain with full control of affiliate emails.
- You want a proper evaluation window. 14 days with no card against our 3 days with one.
- You want affiliates and a customer referral program in one tool. They cover both; we are focused on affiliates.
- Track record matters to your procurement. They have been doing this considerably longer than we have.
Where LinkJolt is the better choice
- Price, at both the entry tier and the one above it.
- Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad, WooCommerce or Apple In-App Purchase billing, none of which they list natively.
- Automated payouts included on every plan, rather than batches you run.
- Recruitment help, through the Discovery marketplace where affiliates browse and join programs. They have no equivalent.
- Migration from FirstPromoter, which we import directly: your roster comes across with payout emails and approval status, and links your affiliates already shared keep working, because a visitor arriving on a FirstPromoter
?fpr=link is matched to the right affiliate.
The recommendation
If Recurly, Chargebee or Braintree is your billing system, or the portal must be indistinguishable from your own product, choose FirstPromoter. Those are real strengths and we do not match them.
If you are on Stripe, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad, WooCommerce or Apple, and you want a lower price with payouts that run themselves, try LinkJolt. Either way, use the trial to push a real purchase through an affiliate link and then refund it, and see which product handles the reversal in a way you trust.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between LinkJolt and FirstPromoter?
Billing coverage and payouts. FirstPromoter natively supports Stripe, Paddle, Recurly, Chargebee and Braintree, and brands the affiliate portal more deeply. LinkJolt supports Stripe, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad, WooCommerce and Apple In-App Purchases, costs $19.99 against $49, and automates payouts on every plan.
Is LinkJolt cheaper than FirstPromoter?
Yes. $19.99 a month against $49 at entry, both capped around $5,000 a month. The gap widens one tier up, where LinkJolt covers $25,000 for $39.99 and FirstPromoter covers $15,000 for $99.
Does FirstPromoter support Recurly and Chargebee?
Yes, both natively, along with Stripe, Paddle and Braintree. LinkJolt does not support Recurly, Chargebee or Braintree, so if you bill through any of them FirstPromoter is the better fit.
Which has better white-label branding?
FirstPromoter. Their portal and email customisation on your own domain goes further than LinkJolt, which offers your brand colour, your own subdomain, configurable partner terminology and branding removal on Ultimate and Scale.
Can I migrate from FirstPromoter to LinkJolt?
Yes. The importer pulls your roster using your FirstPromoter API key, bringing payout emails and approval status across, and links your affiliates already shared keep working because a visitor arriving on a FirstPromoter ?fpr= link is matched to the right affiliate.
